A Certified JBoss Web Developer is capable of implementing presentation tier components for J2EE applications. They have the base knowledge on Servlet and JSP technology, Portlet specification, Tomcat Servlet container and JBoss Portal. A Certified JBoss Developer for web tier is able to implement and deploy presentation components (Web Archives) on Tomcat server and Portlet components on JBoss Portal implementation.
JBoss for Web Developers focuses on web tier technologies in the JBoss Enterprise Middleware System (JEMS) product stack. We cover details on JBoss Portal, how to create and deploy portlets, integrating portlets with other web tier frameworks such as JavaServer Faces (JSF) and configuring and tuning the Tomcat web container embedded in JBoss Application Server. Familiarity with JSP and Servlet development and related specification is heavily recommended. No previous experience with Portlets or JSF is required.
There are no prerequisites for beginning the certification process to become a Certified JBoss Web Developer. Students must register for the required course work as identified below.
The certification exam is available to students of the JBoss for Web Developers course within 12 months from completion of the training. The exam will be available from our online provider for a fee. The exam is currently under development and will be released late 2005; additional details on exam format will be updated at that time.
Certified professionals will be required to re-certify with every major JEMS release to assure that they stay current on the technology.
